Why Choose Hospice?
Make Your Wishes Known Have the Conversation
Should critical decisions about your health need to be made and you're unable, who will make them for you?
Will they know what YOU want? Make those decisions NOW.
National Healthcare Decisions Day exists to inspire, educate & empower the public & providers about the importance of advance care planning.
The best time to make decisions concerning your health care is while you are able to consider your wishes carefully and discuss them with your doctor, caregivers, family and loved ones.
Health emergencies and sudden illnesses happen. Having a plan that makes your healthcare wishes known is the best way to make sure you get the kind of treatment you want.
Having a plan also helps your loved ones make tough choices without having to worry whether they are doing the right thing for you.

Your Community Hospice
If you’re living with a terminal illness, caring for a loved one who is gravely ill, or grieving the loss of someone near to you, Blue Ridge Hospice can help. For over thirty years, we have provided the compassionate physical, emotional and spiritual care to people of all ages who are coping with end-of-life challenges. We’re here for you, too, with expert services that can ease your burden and enhance your quality of life at this cumbersome time.
We have long set the standard for end-of-life care in the Northern Shenandoah Valley and surrounding counties and we continue to lead the way today, with innovative programs that honor the choices, preserve the dignity and address the individual needs of the patients and families we are privileged to serve.
As a not-for-profit hospice, supported and shaped by the community, we care for everyone who needs us regardless of ability to pay. Thanks to the generosity of individuals and businesses in the communities we serve, through fundraising events and thrift shop donations and sales, we are able to raise funds to help those in need of end-of-life care. We offer free grief support to anyone who has suffered a loss, whether or not their loved one was our patient and we provide educational offerings on all matters related to death and dying throughout the area.
This is our mission. This is our passion. And this is why we have been the preferred choice of terminally ill individuals and health care professionals since 1981.
Please contact us anytime, day or night. 540-536-5210 The sooner you call, the more we can help!

Thanks to the Northern Virginia Daily for recognizing this accomplishment!! Click HERE to read the feature!!
Our organization received our new 3-year accreditation from the Joint Commission. The reviewer described Blue Ridge Hospice as a "high quality hospice" and added that we are "light years ahead" of the many hospices she has surveyed. She was very complimentary of our entire staff, that includes nursing, certified nursing assistants, music therapists, social workers, bereavement counselors, our inpatient care center staff, chaplains, medical staff, our entire interdisciplinary team, volunteer staff, human resources staff and our business office. She was also greeted warmly by our receptionists. The reviewer agreed that not all hospices are alike and that, "Blue Ridge Hospice is an amazing organization - top echelon of hospices." We're so proud of our entire staff!
